“Oh, it’s not important~” he said as he looked to see a frown on Hibari’s face. “I just wanted to arrange a meeting with… a friend.” Then he stabbed his puff with his fork then happily ate it. He almost forgot that he had to finish it early since he was already late.
“I’m a bit suprised though, Kyo-chan~ I remember speaking loud and clear when I was on the phone. You didn’t hear?”
Hibari rolled his eyes when the man said it’s “not important.” It was definitely important if he brought it up like that! Hibari took another sip of his tea, and pondered his answer. He didn’t want to straight out admit that he was blatantly listening into his conversation, yet he didn’t want to make him seem that he was completely deaf.
“I didn’t hear a lot,” he replied, “since I wasn’t exactly paying attention.”
‘You weren’t paying attention?’ Byakuran thought, not audibly. He had to control the urge to mock him. He was thinking of giving a handicap to Vongola, giving them a clue about the power Gesso Family would hold, but he decided he’ll do that later; after the meeting, as a little show.
“Well, now you know.” he said eating the last of his food. “Ho~ It’s delicious~”
